There are many movement journeys to embark on, and many paths for those journeys. Fitness goals should be empowering and incorporate a wide variety of ideas and techniques to make your quests intense but enjoyable, acute but passionate.
As your trainer, your journey will encompass my 10 years of fitness and wellness background, which includes competitive powerlifting and weightlifting, advanced levels of kettle bell and weightlifting, advanced levels of kettle bell knowledge, and the enjoyment of the other strange tools found here at NCHW, like leverage clubs, sandbags, and tires. Plus we can’t forget the marvels of the body itself, as we explore movement sans equipment, using yoga, martial arts and good ol’ calisthenics to constantly increase our levels of ability.
On top of being a Certified Personal Trainer several times over (here’s a list of fancy acronyms: CSCS, NASM, ACE, ACSM, USAW), I also am a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), the perfect compliment for any wellness practitioner. I have an educated background in exercise science, sports medicine, competitive sport specific training, and body/mind therapies that include several styles of body work, including Sport, Deep tissue Prenatal, Trigger Point Release, Reflexology, Myofascial, Active Release Therapy and Thai massage. Over the past several years I have had the privilege to work along side local fitness owners, wellness practitioners, Doctors of chiropractic, Ostiopaths, US Olympic coaches and athletes, registered dietations, Master therapists, powerlifting gurus, authors and countless other professional and private coaches, doctors and educators.
Power, endurance, flexibility, balance, stabilization and proper body mechanics, all unfolding into the habits that promote the obtainment of your goals not only motivates me, but also makes the transformation of my knowledge to my client that much easier. I really, really love this stuff! The work is personal and positive and also reminds me of my own very full, balanced, blessed life and the everyday satisfaction that I find in doing it for myself and for others.
I’m proud to be a part of the NCHW family, the passion and knowledge of our members and training staff promotes both learning and fun the good old fashioned way, with hard work and sweat. I think that you’ll agree with me that we have something very special here and I know that I am honored and privileged to be a part of it. Thanks and many blessings.
